| Cost - Income Ratio |
| Cost - income ratio measures the proportion of bank's income that is consumed by its operating costs. Operating costs are the administrative and fixed costs of the bank (eg salaries and wages, property costs, etc) and excludes losses due to bad and non-performing loans. It is calculated as:- Operating costs / Total Income A low figure is indicative of a moree profitable bank. |
